ENHUMAN

ENHUMAN is a photo-realistic human avatar meant to mimic real human features so closely that it could be mistaken for the real thing. Through detailed attention to the appearance, facial expressions, and individual movements of each avatar we are able to achieve a level of realism that was impossible or astronomically expensive just a few years ago. All ENHUMAN avatars are rendered in real-time and are perfect for use in situations where a feeling of trust facilitates activity, including interpersonal services or education. Appropriately applied AI increases the level of functionality, especially in business settings, where accurate information transfer, bias-free decision-making, multilingual communication, and reduced costs are all important factors.

This functionality can also expand to be used in video games or other experiential interactive media where immersion can be greatly enhanced by the level of detail.

As renowned Japanese media artist Yoichi Ochiai has said, ENHUMAN is “a digital human from Japan that will lead the world in this field.”

  • Hiroaki Yura

    Producer

    Hiroaki Yura is chiefly known for the high quality, Unreal Engine-focused video productions created by his company at SAFEHOUSE. He has strong ties with top Japanese and international artists such as Takuya Suzuki and Erasmus Brosdau, and has been involved in worldwide video and AAA game productions. He has also created a dedicated motion capture studio and team known as "DEFCON ZERO" based in Tokyo. His latest project, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance", for which he served as Producer, is scheduled for release soon.

    While real-time rendered graphics, especially those meant for video games, have traditionally been known as lower quality for the sake of rendering speed and complexity, “ENHUMAN” is capable of realizing extremely realistic virtual avatars capable of conducting all manner of business functions. The system is capable of assuming any manner of task, from the mundane to those requiring highly specialized and lengthy training including interpersonal business, advisory, and service roles. In addition, there are considerable applications in companionship and elder care, fields that have already seen a rise in government subsidies as high wealth populations across the world age out of the workforce. With detailed scans this system can also be used to recreate stars who have already passed away or even generate whole new personas for applications such as realistic virtual artists or singers.

    As technology approaches the level of finally besting the Turing Test and creating artificial intelligence that can successfully impersonate a human, we believe that ENHUMAN can be another step towards achieving this visually.

    A computer would deserve to be called intelligent if it could deceive a human into believing that it was human.

  • Erasmus Brosdau

    Developer

    A film director and a master of CG imagery and technical achievement, Brosdau is best known for his work as director on Skyharbor, the world's first VR benchmark. He has also worked on AAA games such as "Crysis 3", "Ryse: Son of Rome", and "Star Citizen" and is an accomplished film director. He is strongly influenced by Japanese media and works closely with the creators at SAFEHOUSE. His representative works include the "Resident Evil" series, "Kamen Rider" series, and commercials for "DEATH STRANDING". In addition, he is the director of the series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance" which will be released soon.

    The "Uncanny Valley" has been a major problem plaguing the production of people in CG up until now. This is the uneasy feeling people get when they find themselves looking at a model that is so close to being 100% realistic that the small imperfections are magnified. “ENHUMAN" seeks to overcome the Uncanny Valley by enabling elaborate and more human-like expressions that cannot be imitated by existing digital humans. As we work to continually develop ENHUMAN we expect that we will be able to bridge the gap between digital and real soon.
